There are three National Education boards in India. They are:
- NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling)
- CISCE (Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations)
- CBSE (Central board of Secondary Education).
But mostly people are aware about only CBSE. That is primarily because CBSE is the most widely recognized and accepted national board in India. While CBSE affiliated boards are in the excess of 25,000, there are under 3000 schools affiliated with the rest of the two boards.
The most popular and largest Education Board in India is Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE). Parent organization of CBSE Board is Ministry of Education, Government of India. CBSE board offers course books in several different languages. Till class 10th, English is the first language in CBSE Board. Besides 25000+ schools in India, CBSE also has 249 Schools in 25 foreign countries, in which 81 schools are in United Arab Emirates itself. CBSE Board is controlled and managed by Government of India. In CBSE there is an option for Board Exam in 10th Grade. All Kendriya Vidyalayas, All Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and several popular Private schools are affiliated to CBSE Board and approved by central government of India to fulfill the educational requirements of the wards, whose parents were employed in transferable jobs and in Indian Defence Services.
